Apple will get $11 from AT&T for every new iPhone Customer

Yes, according to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster's research note, AT&T will be paying Apple $11 a month for every new iPhone customer and $3 a month for every iPhone customer already with AT&T.

Though, the AT&T's iPhone revenue sharing pact details are secret; many analysts believe it to be a lucrative for Apple and Steve Jobs.

This analysis on the profit sharing seems more reasonable; iPhone brings in more customers to AT&T and help retaining its existing customers. Its a win-win business for both AT&T and Apple.

Micrsoft changes opts subscription based pricing model

According to Reuters, Microsoft has launched a pay-as-you-go pricing model aimed at making its office software more accessible for people in emerging markets, the company said on Tuesday.

Microsoft seems to use this Office 2007 model to target students, home users and small businesses in South Africa and Romania this month. May be sooner or later, this pricing model will be available in other countries too.

Is this pricing model change, a result of competition from its free and subscription based online counterparts like Google, Zoho, etc.?

Any comments?
